A: No. By definition they are neither fake nor counterfeit. They are certainly real, and they are not made in imitation with intent to pass them off as authentic or genuine. They are however, proxies. High quality replicas that are sold as replicas, and not as the real deal.
Q: Are these tournament legal?
A: While we would not recommend you take them to sanctioned tournaments and play with them as if they were authentic, they can be used with judge approval to replace a card temporarily which has been damaged through regular play.
Q: Do they feel like authentic cards?
A: Not only do they feel like authentic cards, they look like them too. These cards are printed on the highest quality stock which has met strict tolerances for flexibility, durability and colour reproduction.
Q: Do these cards pass the various tests?
A: They pass the bend and water test effortlessly. They do not pass the light test, but do allow slightly less light through because the stock is not identical to the proprietary stock used by Wizards (this is one way that you can differentiate them from authentic cards). Lastly, they do rip like authentic magic cards, showing a similar coloured center as authentic cards do, but it is not the same colour (another way that you can tell if the card is authentic or not).
Q: Can these be played discretely in sleeves?
A: Although we don't recommend trying to cheat anyone into thinking your cards are authentic, their quality is certainly good enough to make it incredibly hard to tell if they are being played in a sleeve. We recommend these cards for testing, learning and casual purposes only.
Q: Do you make these cards?
A: No. These cards come from a supplier that has the means to create them using the proper equipment. Any cards made at home can't even come close to the extreme specifications to which these cards are manufactured.
